Khalid Darwish is Smart Grid Automation Lead Engineer at TAQA Distribution UAE, with more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector. His career has focused on the design, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial control systems and automation technologies.
He holds a BSc in Electromechanical Systems Engineering and an MSc in Mechatronics Engineering from the American University of Sharjah, UAE. Khalid also holds professional certifications in Project Management (PMP), Cybersecurity (CISSP), and IT Networks.
His areas of interest include smart grids, SCADA and ICT systems, AI for industry, and operational technology security. He has authored and presented several papers on process automation, communications, smart grid technologies, and industrial cybersecurity at international conferences.
Khalid is a member of CIGRE telecommunications working groups, a certified member of the UK Engineering Council, and a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
